Something a little different this week! I love adding random text occasionally to my jewellery – sometimes hidden and sometimes visible. Visually appealing and also very tactile – it adds another textural dimension to my work. The written word is such a wonderful and powerful tool! What joy to curl up with a good book or listen to stories on my tape deck as I work: – )
‘Cross pendant’ by Deanna Gracie was a special commission for a client – so has been sold. It is made of stg silver, red gold and garnet. Made from my heart and by my hand no two pieces of jewellery can ever be exactly the same : – )

I seem to be focusing on making hearts, leaves and koru designs at the moment! I’m creating lots of wonderful pieces around the theme of peace, harmony, new beginnings and love : – ) Making these pieces is a constant reminder of how very blessed I am to be following my dream!

Engagement rings for men are becoming more popular! I designed and created these “Horizion Line rings” for a lovely couple recently. They wanted something a little different to the norm that incorporated a garnet gemstone, some texture and copper. The ring on the bottom is his – a Size W and looked great on his finger. The line of copper impressed into the band complemented his skin tone and brought a warmth to the silver. : – )

This is another commission piece – a pair of koru stud earrings.I made some koru wedding bands for a wonderful couple last year and he wanted to surprise his wife with some earrings for their 1st wedding anniversary – using the same colours of red gold and silver, I had used in both their wedding bands! These earrings are the result : – ) It is such a joy creating special pieces for special moments in peoples lives.

I have just finished these funky new ‘Aotearoa/Aroha’ rings and they are now on display in a gallery in Christchurch. The three hand made rings in the stack are made from sterling silver, 9ct red gold and 18ct yellow gold.
The fern design represents peace, harmony and new beginnings. I am an artisan jeweller from Christchurch, New Zealand, designing and creating hand crafted contemporary jewellery using age old techniques.
