“Red” finished
I spent three days recently exploring colour at a winter painting workshop at Canterbury University with tutor Joanna MacKenzie. Wow what a fun time my new found friends and I had finding out which colours we loved, which ones worked well together, which ones came alive when placed next to another and which ones went muddy when mixed with the wrong colour! What joy to just play with no expectations on completing a finished artwork. I had some calico at home, so on the last day I ended up painting three large pieces – one in red tones, one in yellow and one in dark blue! Laying them on the floor and making large sweeping stokes with a HUGE brush was a first for me! But surprise, surprise I was actually pretty happy with the results when I got them home and away from the fluorescent lights of the art room : – ) Thanks Joanna – I had a great time!

This look like great fun, to explore colours, and I love your combinations – with “RED” as my favorite. I would have used the same…maybe that´s why I love your jewellery. Will this study have influence on your next work? That will be interesting to see.

Hi Birgitte!
I really enjoyed the class – although I must admit I was taken out of my comfort zone : – )
Thanks for your comments – it will be interesting to see if it has any influence – even I don’t know!
I hope you have a great weekend in Denmark : – )
