I will be at the Red to the Black expo http://www.handsupwellington.co.nz in Wellington at the TSB Bank arena over the weekend of July 2nd and 3rd. My Stand number is 48. More than 80 extraordinary Christchurch businesses will be there for this unique retail experience and every dollar spent goes back into helping rebuild Christchurch businesses. Alongside my collection of nature inspired jewels saved from my gallery after the February earthquake, I’ll also have some gorgeous, brand new, never before seen landscape rings like the one pictured above created by hand from sterling silver, red gold and pink tourmaline. Call in to Stand 48 and say hi – I’d love to see you.

I will have three pieces of jewellery from my “Drifting” series in ArtOpportunity – a multi media exhibition by Christchurch artists at the George Hotel, Park Terrace, Christchurch this weekend. The exhibition runs from 2pm – 8pm Friday 27th May with the official grand opening at 5pm and then runs until Sunday 29th May. I will be there on Saturday 28th May from 1pm – 4pm and would love to see you! It’s wonderful to have art back in the city again even if it is only for a short time – Art feeds the soul : – )

This handmade landscape ring is now winging it’s way to a lovely lady in Australia. The brief was to design and create a ring that incorporated the ocean, the koru and a puriri leaf or blossom – in sterling silver with perhaps copper or lapis lazuli added – this is what I came up with in the end – I’m pretty wrapped with how it turned out : – )
To start of the design process I begin by drawing lots of different ideas – some I develop further and others fall by the wayside which is always part of the process. Below are just a few of the ideas that I came up with when designing this ring and I feel they show  a lot of promise – I’ll develop these  further still so they become workable pieces of jewellery : – )

Created from my heart and by my hand – no two pieces of jewellery can ever exactly the same…..

Dear friends and clients, I would like to invite you to visit my new exhibition LAND AND SEA now showing online. Land and Sea celebrates the ever-changing beauty of my natural surroundings. I love working in precious metals and gemstones to create tactile and colourful, wearable works of art, which reference the organic shapes and colours I find in nature. The pieces in this exhibition were destined to be on show in ConneXion Gallery, the beautiful new space we designed at the Arts centre in Christchurch. Unfortunately due to the earthquake that hit our city on February 22nd and after being open for only two and a half weeks – it is now still closed. It was a hard blow to lose two galleries in five months. I’m still passionate about creating unique, contemporary jewellery and will be on the look out for another exciting opportunity to showcase my creations. LAND AND SEA allows you to easily see the detail of my works in a gallery space. There is a small UNITY 3D player that is easier than Flash to install. Once installed my exhibition will automatically load and play.

ConneXion – the beautiful gallery we worked so hard to rebuild is now behind the police cordon in the central city and unable to be accessed for quite some time. I still haven’t heard how Magma Gallery in Lyttelton fared but I’m hoping they and their lovely gallery are all right. I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, everyone that has sent messages of love and support – they have meant the world to me in these very trying times. Although I couldn’t access the computer for the first week – I knew they would be there, waiting for me in my inbox and sure enough they were!
