Chris Taylor approached me and asked if I’d like to exhibit some of my jewellery in their brand new gallery in Fairlie, South Canterbury, New Zealand – Dawson and Hall. I really liked Chris’s enthusiasm and genuine interest in the artists he invited to exhibit – so I said yes! I now have selection of contemporary jewellery on display there. Dawson and Hall is now open – so if you’re passing through Fairlie please stop in and visit Chris Taylor and Caley Hall’s wonderful new gallery. The gallery focus is on contemporary New Zealand art, sculpture and jewellery. Dawson and Hall is situated on the main road heading to Mt Cook / Tekapo in the old Fairlie Craft Shop premises.
“We want it to be different and focus on artistic creations which have a point of difference, but we don’t want the gallery to be too pretentious either”, gallery owner Mr Hall said. “We’re looking for it to be really varied – everything from sculptures to jewellery to modern art”.
